The Dream

My ideas for this film came from dreams, and our bodies reactions to them. As we are dreaming we are watching helplessly because our muscles are momentarily paralyzed. Although the reason for dreams is unknown there are still symbolic meanings behind some of the things we are seeing and hearing while we dream. For my connection with winter, I wanted to connect the water shots with the flooding issues that have been going on around the state. To see water in your dreams symbolizes your unconscious and emotional state of mind. Different forms and types of water stand for different things. Running water represents meditation and reflection, clean calm water represents you are in tune with your spirituality. I wanted the clips to flash in and out of the woman sleeping and show the static and blurry visions that we have when we dream.  And also to raise the question.. What does a dream look like outside of our sleep?
