For this project I am focusing on family values, mainly using footage from the 1950s but also adding in some more recent footage that shows a small difference in how the way of family time has changed. Since the media and social world has expanded enormously, the value of spending time with your family has decreased. You see in this short film how the importance of family values were a huge part of their lives, and it has loosen up a lot since then.
Since these films are going to be shown at The White Night Memory Theater, I wanted to include something that had to do with the theater. You see in this film that the family videos are very important to everyone in the household and they spend a lot of time using this way of scheduling their daily nights in order to keep the family structure going. Since television was just starting to grow in the 50s, it meant a lot for the families to be able to get together to watch a film, because of how hard it was so get films back then. Even though the way we live today is day and night from back then, some family values are still being recognized today but not nearly as strict as they used to be.
